Billie Joe Armstrong revealed in an interview with NME that HBO has given Green Day the "go-ahead" to begin production on the long-rumored American Idiot movie. Armstrong noted that "the script is currently going through a couple of rewrites here and there, so I’m not sure when exactly we’re going to start shooting, but it’s definitely all systems go at the moment," in regards to the film's timeline, but has confirmed that he will be playing the character of St. Jimmy. Green Day's latest album, Revolution Radio, hits stores today, October 7th.
